This winter season is filled with dozens of new anime, with enough hotly anticipated sequels and promising new upstarts to get any fan excited. And speaking of getting excited, the start of a new season means we get to do one of our favorite things – talk about kickass anime OPs! This time, we have funktastic shounen bops, ominous undertones hidden within bombastic toe-tappers, and some eyegasm-inducing animation to wash it all down. Let’s get started!
2020 was a year that lacked many things, but at least we had an abundance of quality anime waifus to keep us smiling through the carnage. Some were cut from the traditional mold of adorable moe girls whose smiles must be protected at all costs, others were badass warriors who could kill a man with a well-placed glare, and there were even a few who perfectly combined aspects of both. Let’s reminisce together about our top 5 waifus of 2020!
The Winter 2021 anime season is packed to the gills with fantastic programming: Attack on Titan Final Season, Wonder Egg Priority, SK8 the Infinity, Beastars Season 2... but one anime in particular, seems jarringly out of place among these juggernauts. Ex-Arm, a mostly CGI show based on writer HiRock and artist Shinya Komi’s 2015 manga of the same name, is so unabashedly terrible that it’s already plummeted to one of the lowest spots on MyAnimeList - yes, even below Summer 2020’s infamous Gibiate.
